US 36 Projects From Cameron To Osborn
Work on US 36, Cameron to Osborn is affecting drivers that head to St Joseph, adding time to their commute. The Missouri Department of Transportation says the project near the Osborn Junction will move into the next phase soon. Since March, MoDOT has been rebuilding the westbound lanes on a new alignment and added turn lanes at the junction of US 36 with Route 33 North and Route M. Traffic has been narrowed to one lane in each direction, head to head in the eastbound lanes. They planned to reopen the newly aligned lanes in early July, but contractors have been able to complete the work earlier than anticipated and hope to open the new westbound lanes to traffic on Tuesday.
There will still be some construction in the area as the contractor finishes the project.
Other work on US 36 near Cameron includes the work on the turn lanes at Bob Griffin Road and in early July, work will begin on the resurfacing or US 36 from Route 33 to the Caldwell County Line. That project is scheduled to start July 9th and will require one lane in each direction to be closed while the new asphalt is applied. That project will include ramp closures for the resurfacing work.
