Two Cited In Alcohol Compliance Checks
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and the Midland Empire Alcohol Task Force conducted compliance checks in Chillicothe late last week. Sheriff Steve Cox says during the checks, an underage person is sent into a business to attempt to purchase alcohol. The sales person, bartender or retail sales clerk, should ask for proper ID.
The compliance checks resulted in two citations issued.
At about 7:50 p.m. a 26 year old Chillicothe man was cited for Supplying Liquor to a Minor in the 100 block of Washington Street.
Just before 8:00 pm, a 50 year old Chillicothe man was cited for Supplying Liquor to a Minor in the 1100 block of Washington Street.
Cox says the goal is to eliminate future violations and minimize opportunities for minors to have alcohol related violations and traffic crashes.
The Midland Empire Alcohol Task Force provides the overtime money for 2 deputies to work on the compliance checks.
