Sheriff’s Department Conducts Special Enforcement
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department conducted special enforcement operations from July 5th to the 8th. Sheriff Steve Cox says the focus was on extreme speeding and aggressive or drunk/drugged driving on US 36, due to number of complaints and help increase driver safety awareness. Cox says they focused on the areas near the junctions at Mooresville, Utica, and Wheeling.
Cox says there were no drunk drivers found during the special operations. There was one stop that lead to a vehicle search due to probable cause of contraband. Other results from the special operation include:
Twenty-three citations for speeding, with speeds over 75 miles per hour and one as high as 90 miles per hour.
A Kansas driver was cited and detained for traveling 92 in a 65 zone. The driver posted $250 cash bond.
