Serious and Minor Injuries In Area Accidents
A Blythedale, MO man had serious injuries in an accident that happened Thursday evening on Interstate 35, north of Cameron. Thirty-five year old Kenneth Utly was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital for treatment of serious injuries following the accident that happened when he was northbound and had a tire go flat. That caused him to go into the median and he overcorrected, going back into the driving lanes of I-35 and hitting a vehicle driven by 53 year old Betsy Kimball of Bonner Springs, Kansas.
Utly’s vehicle then went off the east side of the road and overturned, coming to rest on its top. He was not wearing a safety belt.
Kimball was not injured in the accident.
A 12 year old Carrollton girl had minor injuries in an accident on US 65 at Carroll County Road 150. The accident happened Thursday about 11:30 am, when 28 year old Levi O’Neal of Carrollton was northbound and was stopped to make a left turn. 53 year old Melissa Sheetz of Carrollton was northbound and attempted to slow, but ran into the O’Neal vehicle. 12 year old Faith Burnett was a passenger in the Sheetz vehicle and had minor injuries. She was wearing a safety belt. She refused treatment at the scene.
