Chillicothe Police Report For Sunday & Monday
The Chillicothe Police Department handles 173 calls for service between Sunday and Monday. Some of the calls include:
Sunday, July 15th.
At about 12:10 am, Officers arrested Misty Lynn Riley in the 10 block of Jackson on four warrants from Trenton for traffic offenses and a warrant from Caldwell County for a traffic offense St. Riley was turned over to Trenton Police.
At approximately 9:04 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a crash in the 100 block of Herriman St. A vehicle hit a utility pole and left the scene before officers arrived. The investigation is on-going.
At approximately 3:48 p.m., Officers were dispatched to creaking and snapping noises coming from a residence in the 400 block of Clay St. Officers discovered the roof was starting to collapse so the residence was evacuated without incident.
At approximately 4:51 p.m., Officers extradited Dustin Eugene Holtzclaw from St. Joseph on a warrant out of Chillicothe. He was transported by Chillicothe Officers to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail.
At approximately 8:20 p.m., Officers took a report of stealing in the 400 block of Vine St. The investigation is on-going.
At about 8:10 p.m., Officers were dispatched to suspicious activity and possible drug use in the 1000 block of Polk St. The investigation is on-going.
At approximately 8:21 p.m., Officers were dispatched to an illegal burn in the 100 block of N. Herriford St. The resident, Ronald Gene Dryer, was issued a citation for illegally burning and the fire was put out by the Chillicothe Fire Department.
Monday, July 16th.
At about 4:00 pm, Officers made contact with a pedestrian in the area of N. Washington St. and Park Ln. Officers discovered the person ran out of gas. And were given a courtesy ride to a local gas station. Officers assisted the person with getting a fuel can and putting gas in their vehicle. Officers also found there was a small child in the vehicle. Officers and EMS provided some money for gas and water.
At about 5:25 pm, Officers stopped a juvenile driving a motorized scooter in the area of Ridgecrest St. and Meadow Lane Dr. Officers told the juvenile they need to have a driver’s license to operate a vehicle on the roadways.
At about 5:40 p.m., Officers checked on an illegally parked vehicle in the 500 block of Grandview Ave. The owner was notified and the vehicle moved.
At about 7:00 pm, Officers were called for a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of Springhill Rd. They arrested Charles Richard Smith, III, for alleged burglary, assault, peace disturbance and trespassing. Smith was taken to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.
At approximately 11:17 p.m., Officers contacted juveniles in the street in the 400 block of Cherry St. Officers advised them of the dangers and to stay out of the street.
