Carrollton Seeks Sales Tax Increase For Aquatic Center

The City of Carrollton will ask residents to fund a new aquatic center through a sales tax increase.  The Carrollton Town Board approved having a special election in November, asking residents to approve a ¾ cent sales tax to fund the aquatic center.  The ¾ cent would be an increase on top of the current tax rate.

Other items on this week’s meeting included an ordinance to issue Waterworks System Revenue Bods to fund the design phase of the water system updates approved by voters.  The bonds are for the design work only.

The Town Board also approved the bid for road salt at $71.18 per ton to be delivered as needed.
