Two 17 Year Olds Injured and Arrested
Two 17-year-olds were injured in separate accidents in the area counties Thursday.
At about 2:50 pm in Daviess County, 17-year-old Sadge Heldenbrandt of Ottawa Kansas, had moderate injuries when he ran off the road in Jamesport and hit a utility pole. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports Heldenbrandt was westbound on Route F at Vine Street when he crossed the center line and went off the road, striking the pole. He was not wearing a safety belt. He was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton for treatment. He was also arrested for alleged DWI with drugs, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and careless and imprudent driving.
At about 6:30 pm in Grundy County, 17 year-old Tyler Marshall of Spickard was injured when he ran off the road and his car overturned on Second Avenue, south of Spickard. State Troopers report Marshall was southbound at an excessive rate of speed when he lost control and skidded off the road. His car overturned twice coming to rest on it’s wheels. He was wearing a safety belt and was treated for minor injuries at the scene before he was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputies and held at the Grundy County Jail.
State Troopers report the arrest of an independence man in Caldwell County Thursday afternoon. 26-year-old Dylan Flannery was arrested at about 4:15 pm for alleged speeding and on a Lee’s Summit warrant for alleged speeding. He was processed at the Caldwell County Detention Center, posted bond and was released.
