Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrests

A traffic stop last Tuesday resulted in two arrests on drug charges.

Chillicothe Officers were patrolling in the area of Dickinson and Cooper, when they saw someone they knew didn’t have a license, driving a vehicle.  The vehicle was stopped, and officers arrested Steven Craig Evans for alleged driving without a valid license.

As Detective Michael Smith investigated further, he requested the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department K9, Zaki, and with a positive response from the dog they searched the vehicle and found alleged methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and items required for the distribution of methamphetamine. They arrested Emily Ann Prewitt and she and Evans were both charged with alleged possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
