Wheeling Residents Injured In Separate Crashes
Two Wheeling residents were injured in separate accidents Tuesday. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports one accident was in Livingston County, the other in Clinton County.
At about 9:30 am, 6 miles north of Wheeling on Route B, 27 year old Jeffery Albertson of Wheeling was injured when the UTV he was driving was struck from behind. According to the report, Albertson was southbound and had slowed to make a left turn. A garbage truck driven by 30 year old Darrell Epperson of New Hampton was also southbound and had crossed the center line to pass the UTV and the UTV was struck on the drivers side, causing the UTV to overturn. Albertson was taken to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
Just before 4:30 pm in Clinton County an accident on Interstate 35, seven miles south of Cameron, left one driver injured. Forty-three year old Michelle Perry of Wheeling was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital with minor injuries. The accident happened when the axels of a tow dolly pulled by northbound a Texas driver became disconnected because of a mechanical failure and crossed the median and were hit by Perry. Perry then hit the guard rail and her vehicle was totaled.
