Chappell Takes Blame On Late Street Projects
This year’s street projects in Chillicothe will start in late summer or early fall and for some of them, they will not be complete until spring. The Chillicothe City Council and the City Administrator, Darin Chappell, says they are not happy with a late start date and they want that to change. Chappell says this year’s projects were late before they started.
The engineering portion of the process took MUCH longer than expected and they are just now completing the bid process to award the contracts.
Chappell says he will take the blame and it won’t happen again.
He hopes to be in the bidding process no later than the end of the year and awarding contracts in early 2019.
