Chillicothe Mudcats 2018 Head Coach Caleb Bounds has accepted his next coaching job for this fall. Bounds has been hired as an Assistant Baseball Coach for Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois. He’ll join the coaching staff that already includes the Head Coach and one other Assistant Coach.
Bounds duties with Rock Valley College will include being in charge of the pitching staff, assisting with hitters, recruiting, game day management, academic progress, travel and day-to-day operations.
Bounds coached the Mudcats to a 15-25 record in the MINK League North Division. Prior to that he coached the Columbia College baseball team to two 30-win seasons and a conference championship, working mainly with the pitching staff. Bounds played high school baseball at Savannah of the Midland Empire Conference, then at both William Woods University and North Central Missouri College in Trenton.
