New Equipment Approved For Street, Police and Fire Departments
The Chillicothe City Council approved the purchase of equipment for several departments at Monday’s meeting. The Chillicothe Street Department requested the purchase of a mini excavator to replace the current piece of equipment, which is failing.
The Takeuchi mini excavator will be purchased from VLP Holding at a cost of $67,950. The Street department has already tested the equipment and feel it will meet their needs.
The Council also approved the purchase of a new radio systems for the police and fire departments and in car computers for the police department. City Administrator Darrin Chappell says these would be paid from three sources.
The $219,000 will be financed through a lease-purchase agreement that will be presented at a future meeting.
