The Chillicothe Hornets Soccer Team is looking to reload this season after graduating eight Seniors from last year’s squad, including their Foreign Exchange student.
New to the schedule this year is an October meeting at home against Hannibal and playing in what is called the Kansas City Cup Tournament on September 10th-15th. The Hornets will still compete in tournaments at Excelsior Springs and Mexico. Also new to the schedule is a game against Kansas City St. Pius X, which takes the place of Smithville in the Midland Empire Conference. St. Pius beat Chillicothe last year in the district tournament in double overtime.
The team will again compete in a pre-season jamboree at Excelsior Springs on August 18th, then will open the season at Knob Noster on August 27th. Their home opener is on the 28th against Cameron.
