Livingston County Tax Rate Proposal

The Livingston County Commissioners will consider setting the tax rate for personal property and real estate at their meeting August 9th.  The public hearing will start at 11:00 am.

The proposed rate is .0889 per $100 valuation.  That includes .0379 for the general fund and .0510 for the Senior Citizen Tax Fund.

The 2017 rate was .0797.  the increase from last year is .0092

If you have a $100,000 home, the total tax collected for the county is about $16.89, an increase of $1.75.  County Clerk Sherry Parks says the increase is due to the rise in the Consumer Price Index as calculated by the State Auditor’s office.
