Chillicothe City Boards Meet to Consider Changes

Two Chillicothe City Boards met Monday to handle requests for changes.  The Board of Adjustments was asked to consider a request to reduce the side yard setback from 10 feet to 7.5 feet on a property at 1430 Burnam Road.  The home previously on the lot had burned.  The owner requested the smaller setback and the neighbor was in favor of the request.  The Board approved the variance and there is no further action required.

The Planning and Zoning Commission was asked to consider a change of Zoning for the former Garrison School property at 209 Henry Street.  The property had been zoned as Public Use because it was a public school.  The property was sold to House of Prayer and will be used, in part, for a distribution center for used clothing and furniture.  The Planning and Zoning Commission approved a recommendation to change to Mixed Use. That recommendation will be considered by the City council on August 13.
