When a new football coach takes over a program, things can change. One recent tradition for the Chillicothe Hornets football program will continue under new Head Coach Tim Rulo.
MSHSAA rules state full contact football practices in full football gear may not begin until Saturday, August 11th. Prior to that practices mostly involve conditioning drills and instruction with shirts, shorts, shoes and helmets only.
This Saturday at one minute past midnight, Chillicothe football players will be in full pads and will include a full contact practice. It’s a tradition started just a few years ago and that players enjoy.
The Hornets Football Team travels to Columbia for a four-team pre-season jamboree at Columbia: Father Tolton High School with South Callaway and Hallsville on the 17th. They open the regular season at home against Marshall on the 24th with all games broadcast live on KCHI 102.5 FM and 1010 AM, plus streaming online at KCHI.com.
