Clean-Up Of Old CMU Steam Plant Clears Final Hurdle

The clean-up of asbestos and other hazardous materials at the old CMU Steam Plant received final approval from the Chillicothe City Council Monday night.  CMU’s General Manager, Jim Gillilan says it is a project they had planned to do for some time.

The winning bid was $1.079 million dollars from A.T. Abatement Services.

The council followed the recommendation from the Board of Public Works and approved the bid on a 3-zero vote, with two members absent from the meeting.
