The Chillicothe Police Department continues to use tax payer dollars in the best way possible and that includes applying for grants to help support the officers and the department.  Chillicothe Police Chief Jon Maples says the department recently received a grant of $7,250.86 through the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant.

Maples says the Chillicothe Police Department purchased 17 duty holsters, 30 traffic cones, 17 gun mounted tactical lights, 11 leg irons, 17 rain coats, and 25 transport hoods.

He thanked Sergeant Stephens for his work on the grant and says he and Sergeant Stephens are working on applying for next year’s grant at this time.
