Traffic Stop In Chillicothe Leads To Two Drug Arrests

A Traffic Stop Sunday in the southern part of Chillicothe lead to two arrests on drug charges.  Chillicothe Police attempted the traffic stop in the 300 block of South Washington, but the vehicle went through a parking lot and turned onto several streets before making the stop.

A 39 year old woman and her 32 year old male passenger were contacted and the officers found the woman allegedly had a suspended license.  Officers were also suspicious of possible drug activity and summoned a drug dog from Brookfield.

The report states the dog alerted to possible presence of narcotics, and a further search of the vehicle yielded items used in the sale of drugs and they also found alleged drug paraphernalia.

During the investigation, they learned the driver allegedly hides narcotics in her body.  With a search warrant, a female officer found and retrieved a bag of a crystal substance consistent with methamphetamine.

The officers arrested 32 year old Jeffery K Gilgour and 39 year old Geri N Newsom for alleged delivery of a controlled substance.  Newsom was also charged with alleged tampering with physical evidence.  Both are held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.  Newsom’s bond is set at $50,000 and Gilgour’s bond is set at $25,000.
