Drought Conditions Improving

Drought conditions are improving for much of the KCHI listening area, but some areas are still in the extreme drought classification.  Jeanette Straker from the Livingston County Farm Service Agency office says there is improvement in much of Livingston County.

While the corn crop is too far along to receive much if any benefit from the recent rains, Straker says the soybeans have been helped.

Straker says while conditions have improved, we are still down considerably from where we should be and producers would still benefit from continued rainfall to build the soil moisture and to fill the ponds before winter.
