Two Accidents In Carroll County Leave Two Dead Saturday

Two accidents in Carroll County left a driver and a pedestrian dead Saturday.

At about 8:10 pm on US 24 near, County Road 311, 68 year old John M Burns of Brookfield was struck and later died.  State Troopers report the accident happened when 37 year old Bryan Tebbenkamp of Holden was westbound on US 24 and had crested a hill, when he stuck a farm tractor and Burns, then struck a second vehicle and 42 year old Brian Hale of Carrollton.  Tebbenkamp was not injured.  Burns was taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital where he later died and Hale was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

 

At about 10:15 pm, a single vehicle roll-over accident took the life of the driver, 49 year old Virgil A Keller of Hale.  State Troopers report Keller was northbound on County Road 331, near Route J, when he ran off the left side of the road and his vehicle overturned.  The report states Keller died at the scene of the accident.  He was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the accident.
