Chillicothe Superintendent Dr Roger Barnes Announces Plan To Retire

Chillicothe R-II school District Superintendent, Dr Roger Barnes made it official Tuesday in the School Board executive session. He will retire at the end of the school year.  Barnes says his last day will officially be June 30th 2019.

Barnes started as Chillicothe’s Superintendent in 2011 and will complete 8 years here.

Barnes came to Chillicothe from the El Dorado Springs School District, where he served as Superintendent for 5 years and had previously served as the Carrollton School District Vocational Director for five years.

Barnes says he has no immediate plans for his retirement other than continuing to work on the family’s farm in Marshall and getting in some fishing.
