Volunteers Needed To Decorate For Annual Festival Of Lights

The Chillicothe Festival of Lights will kick off November 17th, with a lighting ceremony the night of the Chillicothe Holiday Parade.  The Festival of Lights organizers are making their list and checking it twice to be sure all lights and displays are ready when the decorating begins at Simpson Park in a few weeks. Festival of Lights Director Barb Burton says this is a dazzling drive-through display of holiday lights and decorations in Simpson Park that opens on November 17th and runs through January 1st.  Burton says they have added a new display this year – animated Ice-Fishing Penguins.

The Festival of Lights New Display for 2018

Volunteers are needed to decorate Simpson Park and Burton urges those interested in helping to check the “Festival of Lights” Facebook page for the decorating schedule to help get the park ready for Opening Night.  She says everyone is welcome to help decorate. Businesses are encouraged to send a team of employees after hours to decorate an area prepared for each group.

Funding for the annual Festival of Lights is provided through the donations by individuals, area businesses and foundations.  You can drop your donation in the donation box at Simpson Park or mail them to P.O. Box 1032.  Make checks payable to Festival of Lights.
