Keithley and Cypert Qualify for State Tennis Doubles

Chillicothe Lady Hornets Tennis top doubles team has won a second straight trip to the MSHSAA Girls Tennis Doubles Tournament. Chillicothe’s Hunter Keithley and Hannah Cypert defeated Savannah’s team of Stafford and Bailey 6-3, 6-0 in sectional competition to qualify them for the State Tournament for the second consecutive year.
In 2017, Keithley and Cypert lost to a Palmyra team in the first round and lost to a Springfield Catholic team in the second round of the 2017 state tournament.
In singles competition, Chillicothe’s #4 Singles player during the regular season, Macy Cavanah, battled hard against Savannah’s top singles player, but lost to Jocelyn Killauner  6-7, 1-6.
The MSHSAA Double Tournament will be October 19th and 20th in Springfield.
