Flooding On The Grand River Threatening US 65 & US 36

Flooding could impact the local Highways.

The National Weather Service says the Grand River will remain around 35 feet today, but is expected to crest at around 36.6 feet Thursday morning.

The reading at 8:45 am was 35.46 feet.

At 35 feet, the water is at the edge of US 65, south of Chillicothe.  MoDOT and the Highway Patrol officials are watching the highway closely and US 65 could close as early as this morning.

At 37 feet, US 36, west of US 65 will be under water.  The river crest is expected at 36.6 feet, but motorists that use US 36 need to be aware of the possibility of flooding that COULD close US 36.
