Driver Has Serious Injuries and Was Arrested

A single vehicle accident Saturday evening left the driver with serious injuries and under arrest.  Thirty-eight year old Anthony Vansel of Cowgill was taken to Liberty Hospital with serious injuries following the accident at about 9:10 pm on East Soo Line Drive, near Polo.  According to the report, Vansel was westbound when he ran off the road, hit an embankment, when through a fence and his pick-up overturned, coming to rest on its wheels.

Vansel was arrested for alleged careless and imprudent driving, DWI and operating a vehicle owned by another without insurance.  He was released for treatment.

A New Boston resident had moderate injuries in a single vehicle accident Sunday evening near St. Catherine.  State Troopers report the accident happened about 9:40 pm on Highway 11 in Linn county, when 24 year old Kyle O Bailey was northbound and ran off the road, struck the ditch and his car overturned.  He was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Arrests in the report form the Highway Patrol include:

Saturday at about 10:20 pm in Linn County, Troopers arrested 23 year old Dakota Heaney of Marceline for alleged DWI and failing to drive on the right side of the road.  He was processed and released.

Sunday at about 7:10 pm, 61 year old Joseph Zindars of Monticello, IL was arrested for alleged DWI.  He was processed and released.

Sunday at about 9:10 pm in Linn County, Troopers arrested 36 year old Robert Hicks of Milan for alleged DWI prior offender and Driving While Revoked.  He was processed and released.
