A three vehicle accident on Interstate 35 at around Noon Monday left two with serious injuries. The accident happened 4 miles north of Cameron. State Troopers report 43 year old Emy Anderson of Minnesota and 69 year old Eldon Leighty of Oklahoma were both flown to Kansas City hospitals with serious injuries. The report states Anderson was southbound and began to slide into the path of a southbound semi. Anderson vehicle was struck from behind and went off the road into the median, where it overturned and came to rest on its side, on top of a vehicle driven by 45 year old Gretchen Vecellio of Oklahoma. The Vecellio vehicle had previously slid into the median and was undamaged prior to the accident.
Vecellio was not injured; Leighty was a passenger in her vehicle. The truck driver was not injured.
