Sheriff’s Report Includes Two Arrests

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department report for the past week includes a few arrests.

December 1st about 11:50 pm a deputy near Chula reported seeing a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the roadway. As the deputy attempted to make a stop of the vehicle the driver stopped and fled on foot.  Two deputies searched the area and a short time later a man was found with his hands up and wet pants from the knees down.  They arrested 29 year old Joshua Shane McElwee of Chillicothe for alleged DWI, Driving on Wrong Side of the Roadway, and Resisting Arrest by Flight.  He was processed and released.

December 1st, deputies arrested 33 year old Jamie N. Batres of Kansas City as she was released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center. Batres was wanted by Sedgwick County, Kansas on a warrant for alleged Probation Violation on felony drug charges. She was held at the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.

December 2nd the LCSO began an investigation of a 2000 Chevrolet 4 door white colored pickup stolen from a location in Chula. Recovery of the vehicle was made near Highway 65 and Liv 216.
