Chillicothe overcame some early problems and rolled to a 76-58 Boys Basketball home win over Marshall.
Hornets Westley Brandsgaard picked up two early fouls and spent most of the first quarter on the bench. CJ Pfaff picked up the slack, going on a 6-0 run to get Chillicothe into the game.
Marshall Junior Jace Lance had a strong game with 39 of his teams 58 points.
For Chillicothe, Coach Tim Cool applauded his team’s defense, holding Marshall to a season low on points.
Pfaff led the Hornets with 27 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Brandsgaard finished with 23 points including 17 in the second quarter.
Hayden Simmer provided a spark off the bench with 15 points. Peyton Forck had 7 points, Bradley Riley with four points. Five other Hornets saw playing time in the game.
Chillicothe travels to Kirksville on Tuesday for a double header with the Lady Hornets. Boys game is expected to begin at 7:30. Both games can be heard on KCHI and on line at KCHI.com.
