Feed The Birds And Re-Use That Tree After Christmas

As the Christmas season is here, you may want to decorate some of the trees in your yard and help the wildlife as well.  You can decorate those trees with strings of popcorn and cranberries and maybe even some pinecones that have been smeared with peanut butter or suet and then rolled in some bird seed.  Just hang them on the tree.

After Christmas, if you had a real Christmas Tree, don’t let it go to waste.  Bill Graham from Missouri Department of Conservation says they can be used in your yard as cover.

And go ahead and decorate them again for the birds.

Graham says the trees can also provide shelter along a fence line.

Rabbits, birds and other small animals may like a little shelter at this time of year, especially as temperatures fall, we get snow or just as a break from the wind.
