Replacement of Route 139 Bridge Near Newtown Begins January 2nd

The bridge on Route 139, just south of Newtown in Sullivan County will be replaced beginning just after the start of the new year.  The Missouri Department of Transportation announced the Newtown Branch Bridge, which has served the area since 1933, will be replace by contractor Widel, Inc.  The work will begin January 2nd and the contractor plans to have the new bridge open by March 1st.  the work schedule is subject to change depending on the weather.
