Hornets Comeback Falls Short in Tournament

The Chillicothe Hornets boys basketball comeback attempt fell short Friday night. The Hornets lost to East Buchanan 59-55 in the semi-finals of the LeBlond Tournament.
The Hornets were outscored 18-7 in the second quarter and fell behind by as many at 14 points late in the third quarter.
Chillicothe closed the gap to four points late in the fourth but got no closer due to East Buchanan hitting all 12 of their fourth quarter free throws.
Hornets Coach Tim Cool said his team played hard against a very good team.

Chillicothe’s Twin Turbos accounted for most of the offense. C J Pfaff had 24 points and Westley Brandsgaard had 20 points . Others scoring for Chillicothe were Bradley Riley with 5, Hayden Simmer and Peyton Forck each had three points.
Getting playing time were Eli Cross, William Perry and Hunter Swift.
Chillicothe plays for third place on Saturday at 5:30pm at St Joseph Bishop LeBlond School.
