The Newtown Branch Bridge in Sullivan County will close Wednesday. The bridge, located just south of Newtown on Route 139, has been in use since 1933 and will be replaced by early March. Motorists will need to find an alternate route around the bridge for the next couple months.
The replacement project will be led by contractors from Widel, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation. All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
