Oesch Wins District American Legion Oratorical Contest

The winner of the District 2 American Legion Oratorical contest on Saturday in Brookfield is a senior at Southwest, Meredith Oesch.  The American Legion’s 85th annual High School Oratorical Scholarship Program included each contestant delivering prepared talks lasting no less than five minutes and no longer than six minutes on an aspect of the US Constitution of their choosing.  Then they each delivered an additional extemporaneous address on the 21st Amendment regarding the end of prohibition, a subject randomly drawn just five minutes before speaking.
