Chillicothe Police Drug Take Back Box – Eagle Scout Project

The official dedication and opening of a new Drug Take Back Box will be Monday morning at the Chillicothe Police Department.  Local Boy Scout, Edison Turner, from Troop 120, for his Eagle Scout project he wanted to purchase & install a drug take back box.

Turner worked with the Chillicothe Police Department & the Chillicothe City Administrator to move the project through the approval process and the box is now installed in the front entry of the police department.

This locked, secure, steel box is where you deposit any outdated or unused prescription and over the counter medications.  It is then disposed of properly by our local Police Dept instead of being flushed or thrown in the trash, neither of which, says Turner, is environmentally safe.

Chief of Police Jon Maples says he has been wanting a drug take back box for some time & is very excited to have this installed at the PD.

The public is invited to the event Monday at 10 am. There will be refreshments.
