Despite graduation losses and a new Head Coach, St Pius X continues to be a thorn in the side of the Chillicothe Lady Hornets Basketball program. St Pius beat Chillicothe 45-41 in a conference game at Chillicothe.
The Lady Hornets led much of the first quarter before giving up a run on points to train by five after one, and by four at halftime. After taking a one point lead after three, the Lady Hornets were outscored in the fourth quarter.
Chillicothe Coach Darrin Smith said one area that needs improvement is rebounding.
Chillicothe was led by Kennedie Kieffer with 13 points, Hunter Keithley with 10, Jordan Hibner with eight, Maggie Pfaff had four and Lucy Reeter and Magy Thomas each had three points.
Playing but not scoring for Chillicothe were Catey Trout, Laney Gaston, Brooke Horton, Maya Snyder and Haley Kidd.

St Pius won the Junior Varsity game 39-35. For Chillicothe: Brooke Horton had 11 points, Selby Miller and Haley Kidd each with eight, Ella Leamer and Maya Snyder each with three and Montana Hall with two.
Chillicothe won the C-Team game 45-19, after holding Pius to just two points the entire first half. Chillicothe was led by 14 points from Ellie Barnett, 10 from Quincey Jessen, Lucy Reeter had eight, Essie Hicks with five and Clara Leamer and Selby Miller with four each.
