Hornets Hammer Lawson In Defensive Gem

The Chillicothe Hornets used a strong defense to beat Lawson 43-24 in the Cameron Tournament Semi-Finals. The first round boys games were cancelled after three straight days of bad weather.
Tournament organizers advanced the higher seeds to the championship side of the bracket and the lower seeds to the consolation side of the bracket.
The Hornets led by as many as 23 points in the game, while holding Lawson to single digit scoring totals in each of the four quarter.
Coach Tim Cool said due to weather conditions, it was the first game for the Hornets since the loss at Maryville on January 8th

CJ Pfaff led Chillicothe with 11 points and eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. Westley Brandsgaard scored ten, all in the second half. Mason Baxter had seven, Bradley Riley with six, Peyton Forck with four, Hayden Simmer with three and Hunter Swift with two. Also playing for Chillcothe were Hunter Rader, Matt Anthony, Eli Cross, William Perry and Michael Riddle.
Lawson didn’t have anyone with more than five points.
Chillicothe will have a rematch with Maryville when the two teams once again battle for the Cameron Tournament Championship for the second consecutive year. The game will be Saturday at 2:15pm on KCHI
