Chillicothe’s 285 pound wrestler Keegan Valdez was the only individual champion at the Odessa Wrestling Tournament. Valdez with a 33-4 record beat a Mexico wrestler with a 35-3 record 7-4 in the Championship match.
As a team, the Hornet Boys finished eighth out of 12 teams in the tournament that allowed schools more than one entry per weight class. Chillicothe had a few open weight classes due to injury and illness.
Here are the results from the other Chillicothe wrestlers in the tournament.
Finishing Fourth were Lavery Jones and Dawson Wheeler,
Finishing Fifth were Sheldon Rader and Matthew Callen.
finishing Sixth was Isaih Kille.
Finishing Eighth was Cody Kennebeck.
Finishing Ninth were: Aiden Zimmerman, Jacob Chapman, Nicholas Heldenbrand, Kaleb Mullikin and Evan Loucks.
The Lady Hornets wrestling team did not compete in the tournament.
