2019 Livingston County Budget Approved

The Livingston County Budget of just under $8.8 million dollars in expenditures received final approval of the Livingston County Commission following the second public hearing Thursday morning.  Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas praised the commission, the County Clerk and all of the elected officials and department heads for working to keep the budget in line.  Douglas says an important area they are trying to build is the reserves for the County.

Douglas says they continue to try and take care of the county employees.

He says they are trying to keep jail expenses down by working with the sheriff’s office, the prosecutor and the courts.  Douglas says one way to do that is by reducing the county’s jail population.

There is also money in the budget for the courthouse renovation and security upgrades that will be paid over a 15 year period for about $1 million dollars a year.
