Grant Helps To Outfit Chillicothe Officers With Winter Gear

A nearly $10,000 grant has allowed the Chillicothe Police Department to outfit the officers with new winter coats and search & duty gloves.  Police Chief Jon Maples announced the money is from the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant.  Chief Maples says the coats came at the perfect time.

Maples says nearly $6,000 was used to purchase coats and gloves for all 18 members of the police department.  The coats are a Blauer Gore-Tex lined Cruiser.  The police department decided to purchase these coats due to their high heat retaining values and very professional look.  The gloves are Hexarmor search and duty gloves with superfabric which are cut resistant and needle prick resistant.  Officers were very appreciative to have received these new items for their use while on duty.

Sergeant Jeremy Stephens applied for and received this grant.  The new gear keeps the officers looking good and they are comfortable as well.
