The Chillicothe Lady Hornets lived up to their #2 district seed and beat Lexington 47-34 to advance to the district finals.
Chillicothe scored the first six points in the game and led the entire time, by as many as 18 points in the second half.
Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith said his team’s strength of schedule helped his team beat the #3 seed Lexington.
Three point shooting and free throws were the difference for Chillicothe, hitting five treys and 16 free throws.
Hunter Keithley led Chillicothe with 16 points while Jordan Hibner, Catey Trout and Kennedie Kieffer each had six points.
Laney Gaston had five points, Magy Thomas and Brooke Horton each had three and Maggie Pfaff had two.
Five others also played briefly but didn’t score.
Trenton had few problems beating Brookfield 64-33 in the other semi-final.
