Potholes – A Problem Shared By Everyone
Freezing rain, snow, thawing and more rain or snow and another freeze… It’s a vicious cycle that creates and expands potholes. This winter season has been the perfect combination of weather situations where the City of Chillicothe and State of Missouri never seem to get caught up on pothole repairs.
Chillicothe City Administrator Darin Chappell says the City Street Department crews have been trying to fix the worst of the potholes.
When the weather warms up, those potholes will need a permanent fix.
Chappell says some of the worst potholes have been on Washington Street, and that is an area the City can not touch.
Tuesday, with some nice weather, both the City of Chillicothe and MoDOT were working on the potholes in the local area.
