Flooding On The Grand River To Continue Into The Weekend

With rain in the forecast through Thursday for much of the KCHI listening area, and the Grand River already at or above flood stage, flooding will continue into the weekend.

For the Grand River at Chillicothe, the river is expected to fall below flood stage of 24 feet this morning, but will rise above flood stage again on Thursday with a second crest at around 27.4 feet.

At Sumner, moderate flooding will continue as the river remains well above flood stage of 26 feet.  The reading this morning was 34.1 feet, down slightly from a crest of 34.4 feet.  Flooding at Sumner will continue well into the weekend.

At Brunswick, the river was at 19.24 Monday morning and will remain above flood stage of 19 feet through the week, with a crest expected Saturday evening at 23.2 feet.

The national weather service reminds motorist that if they see flooding on the roads, don’t take chances…  Turn around – don’t drown.  Find a different route to your destination.
