Kansas City St Pius X Girls Soccer team used two penalty kicks to beat the Chillicothe Lady Hornets 2-1 in Kansas City.
After a scoreless first half, the Lady Hornets took a 1-0
lead on a Lucy Reeter shot to the left corner of the net early in the second
half.
The Lady Hornets would hold off the Lady Warriors until midway through the
second half when Pius scored on two separate penalty kicks in a five minute
span.
Coach Shannon Grable stated the Lady Hornets fought to the end, putting pressure on the Warrior net but not able to convert into goals. With the 2-1 loss, Chillicothe Varsity is 2-2 on the season and 0-1 in Conference play.
The Junior Varsity game ended in a scoreless tie. Miranda Ball and Londin Edds shared time at goal for the shut out.
Next up for Chillicothe is a home game Monday against Benton.
