Child Abuse And Assault In Chillicothe Police Report

Child abuse and assault are in the Chillicothe Police Department report for Tuesday.

11:20 am, Officers continued an investigation of possible child abuse where the perpetrator is known to the victim.  The suspect was interviewed and is held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

11:50 am, Officers checked the well-being of residents in the 600 block of JFKennedy, after the adult at the home had been taken into custody for another jurisdiction.  Temporary placement was found for the residents.

5:10 pm, An assault was reported in the 1100 block of Waples Street.  The assault is stated to have occurred while one subject was seated in a vehicle and was struck in the face with a fist.  A suspect has been identified and the investigation continues.

6:20 pm, Officers responded to Wheeling at the request of a Livingston County deputy that was encountering a problem with a person that was resisting the officer.  The person was able to avoid arrest and fled the scene on foot.  That person was not located.

6:41 pm, Officers responded to the Chillicothe High School property where a vehicle collision had occurred.  Minor damage had occurred, but it was determined that a driver was under the influence of intoxicants.  The person was arrested, processed, cited and released.

10:00 pm, Officers took a report in the 1800 block of Third Street of people walking around in the yard on the west side of the house.  No-one was found.
