Chillicothe School Board Re-Organizes & Discusses Central School

The Chillicothe r-II School Board meet Tuesday.  After hearing about the programs at TLC and Grand River Tech, the Chillicothe R-II School Board thanked Brent Turner, Robin Quinn and Ron Wolf for their service on the school board and presented each with plaques.  Turner was also presented with a special plaque for his service as School Board President.

The election results were approved, and the new board members were sworn in.  They include Bill Hayen and Clint Williams for three-year terms and Brice Walker for the one year term.

The board then had their election of officers. The new School Board President is Lauren Horsman, Vice President is Lindy Chapman and Treasurer is Paul Thomas.

The board had a presentation by Steve Franke from the CDC and City Administrator Darin Chappell on Central School.  Superintendent Dr Roger Barns says the district will soon make a decision on the property.

Barnes says if they chose to go in that direction, there could be tax abatements for a few years, but the city and county are not collecting taxes on that property now, so it would not take away any taxes.
