Hornets Baseball 1-1 in Day 1 of Tournament

The Chillicothe Baseball team will play for consolation of their own tournament after losing the first game and winning the second game on the opening day of their own tournament.
In the opening game, Macon lit up Chillicothe pitching with 14 hits in a 19-2 win in six innings. Macon scored three in the first, one in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth and ten in the sixth inning.
Chillicothe was their own worst enemy with five errors on the team. Chillicothe used two pitchers that allowed 19 runs on 14 hits including a Grand Slam by Macon. Chillicothe threw five strike outs and gave up nine walks.
At the plate, Chillicothe had a triple and single from Dawson Wheeler, two singles from Westley Brandsgaard and one from Isaih Kille and Kam Ward.

Chillicothe bounced back with a 7-3 consolation semi-final win over Cameron. The Hornets had three runs in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the seventh inning.
At the Plate Chillicothe’s Dawson Wheeler and Westley Brandsgaard both had two singles, Kam Ward had a triple, Jaden Winder and Isaih Kille each had one single.
Brock Ward, Wheeler, Bradley Riley and Matt Smith all had an RBI.
Dawson Wheeler and Matt Smith combined for the win, allowing three runs off six hits with five strike outs and two walks.
Chillicothe plays for 5th place on Saturday Morning.
