A shade structure for the Shaffer Park Ball Field is still in the plans for Grand River Entertainment and the Mudcat Organization. Butch Shaffer from Grand River Entertainment spoke to the City council Monday about the need for an engineering certificate. City Administrator Darin Chappell says the shade structure would be built behind the seats that are right inside the entrance to Shafer Park Ballfield.
They hope to move this along very quickly and have it complete before the Mudcat season begins at the end of May.
