The Trenton Bulldogs tennis team won the team District title with a 5-1 win over Chillicothe. In post season play, when a team picks up their 5th match win, the meet and any unfinished matches end.
For Chillicothe, #1 doubles Tyler Maasdam and Noah Crowe lost to last year’s state qualifiers Nick Shields and Creed Houghton.
#2 Doubles Brendon Nelson and Colten Johnson lost 2-8 and #3 doubles Seth Batye and Gavin Sampsel won 8-6.
In singles matches Tyler Maasdam lost 2-6, 0-6, Noah Crowe lost 0-6, 1-6.
Brendon Nelson was losing 5-7, 2-3 when play ended. Seth Batye lost 3-6, 3-6, Colton Johnson and Gavin Sampsel did not finish their matches.
The Individual Districts for doubles and singles players will be Saturday in Excelsior Springs.
