Chillicothe’s #1 singles player will advance to sectional post-season play. Tyler Maasdam finished second in the district singles tournament in Excelsior Springs.
Maasdam had a bye, beat an Excelsior Springs player 6-1,6-0, beat a Cameron player 6-0, 6-1 then lost to Gabe Swann of Trenton in the championship 1-6, 3-6.
In Sectionals Maasdam will face Mason Walk of Maryville Today at 4:00pm in Cameron. Maasdam has beaten Walk three times this season
#2 singles Brendon Nelson won his first match against Excelsior Springs in three sets, then lost to Swan of Trenton in straight sets.
In doubles play, Noah Crowe and Colten Johnson had a buy, beat a Carrollton team in straight sets, lost to a Trenton team in straight sets then lost to a Carrollton team.
#2 Doubles Seth Batye and Gavin Sampsel beat an Excelsior Springs duo in straight sets then lost to a Carrollton team in straight sets.
